Commercial Pilot

A Commercial Pilot is responsible for operating and navigating aircraft to transport passengers or cargo safely and efficiently. They may work for airlines, charter companies, or cargo operators. Commercial pilots follow flight schedules, communicate with air traffic control, and ensure compliance with aviation regulations. They prioritise passenger safety and comfort, handle emergencies, and maintain accurate flight records.


Tasks:

  • Conduct pre-flight inspections, checking fuel, weather conditions, and aircraft systems.
  • File flight plans and coordinate with air traffic control.
  • Operate the aircraft, including take-offs, landings, and in-flight manoeuvres.
  • Monitor and adjust flight systems, such as navigation and communication equipment.
  • Communicate with passengers, providing safety instructions and updates.
  • Monitor weather conditions and make decisions regarding flight routes and diversions.
  • Respond to emergencies and take appropriate actions to ensure passenger and crew safety.
  • Keep accurate records of flight time, routes, and fuel consumption.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and maintain pilot certifications.
